Emergency first aid at work training course is a one-day course (previously called appointed persons) will help you meet your regulatory requirements if your risk assessment indicates that first aid training covering emergency protocols only, is sufficient for your workplace.

This course is designed for people who want to receive training in emergency first aid and is especially suited for nominated first aiders in smaller, low risk working environments.

First aid course covers the following areas:

  • The role of the first aider
  • Managing an emergency
  • Communication and casualty care
  • Bleeding (minor and severe)
  • Burns
  • Choking (adult)
  • Fainting
  • Health and safety (first aid) regulations
  • Resuscitation (adult CPR)
  • Seizures (adult)
  • Shock
  • Unresponsive casualty

Health Improvement describes the work to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals or communities through enabling and encouraging healthy lifestyle choices as well as addressing underlying issues such as poverty, lack of educational opportunities and other such areas.
